The current Satoshi Nakamoto net worth in 2021 is potentially $40 billion. This estimate is based on the early bitcoin wallets that are believed to belong to him that still hold 980,000 bitcoins valued at approximately $41,000 per bitcoin.

Nakamoto wrote that work on the writing of the code for bitcoin began in 2007. On 18 August 2008 he or a colleague registered the domain name bitcoin.org, and created a web site at that address. On October 31, 2008, he published a paper on the cryptography mailing list at metzdowd.com describing a digital cryptocurrency, titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” .[1]

Satoshi Nakamoto was the name used be the developer or developers of the bitcoin cryptocurrency. The bitcoin white paper was authored under this name. This was also the username that created and deployed bitcoin’s original reference implementation. Nakamoto devised the first blockchain database.

Satoshi Nakamoto is credited as being the first to provide a solution to the double-spending problem that digital currency had in the past. He designed a way to use a peer-to-peer network using blockchain technology. Bitcoin miners who processed transactions would be rewarded with new Bitcoins and the amount of the reward would decrease as time went on through halving.

The user known as Nakamoto continued to be active in the development and mining of bitcoin until December 2010 then his account stopped activity. No one knows the real identity of the original Satoshi Nakamoto, people have both claimed to be him and also denied being him if they had the same name.

The bitcoin wallets believed to be Nakamoto’s have never been spent since last mined in January 2009. At bitcoin’s new peak of over $41,000 each in 2021, these wallets were worth over $40 billion U.S. dollars. If these really are Satoshi Nakamoto’s original bitcoin wallets he would be considered the 33rd richest person in the world in 2021 using that alone as his current net worth

Some people believe the reason that the 980,000 bitcoin have never moved all these years is because they were lost in a hard drive failure.
